Dear Friends of Area Agency on Aging,
The 10th Annual Reeling for Meals Benefit Bass Tournament sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas will take place on the Arkansas River at Pine Bluff, Saturday, March 29, 2008. Following the weigh-in at Regional Park Pavilion by Gary Henderson, Three Rivers Distributing Company and King Kat of Carlisle will host a fish fry at the Waterfront Facility Building. We look forward to your being a part of this exciting event.
In 2002, this tournament was renamed the Bill Sanders Memorial Benefit Bass tournament in memory of our President and CEO’s son, Bill Sanders, who died on February 8, 2001. It was Bill’s passionate concern for the elderly, coupled with his exuberant enthusiasm for sports, especially hunting and fishing, that the 1st Annual Benefit Bass Tournament emerged. With family, including his brother, Dennis, his sister Linda and Bill’s son Trey, along with many friends, the tournament continues to be a successful event. We invite you to become a part of this rewarding tradition by making a donation “in memory of” or “in honor of” someone that is close to you and your heart, as Bill was to ours.
Proceeds from the Bill Sanders Memorial Bass Tournament will be used to benefit homebound frail elderly individuals. At this time we have over 500 seniors in our service area that need a hot nutritional meal taken to the home. No matter what amount you choose to give, you will know your contribution is helping to make it possible for more homebound seniors to have a much needed home delivered meal in your area. Proceeds will also benefit our Caregiver Program that provides respite care and other assistance to those dutifully caring for their ill spouse or parent in the home.
On behalf of the Area Agency and the senior citizens we serve, we would like to say thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Cynda Piper
