Transportation

Being able to access goods and services is a long-standing problem for rural Southeast Arkansas residents who are transportation disadvantaged. For this reason, the Area Agency offers a full range of transportation services for all ages through Southeast Arkansas Transportation (SEAT), a rural transit project.

SEAT
Southeast Arkansas Transportation offers one way and round trips at reasonable rates from any point in Southeast Arkansas to anywhere in Arkansas and return. Services to the Greenville, MS area and Northeast Louisiana may also be arranged. SEAT transportation services are available on a “first call, first served” basis. Children under age 12 ride SEAT for half the adult fare.

As the Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation Broker for Southeast Arkansas, SEAT transports eligible Medicaid recipients to Medicaid covered medical appointments when no other transportation is available.

SEAT drivers are professionally trained and expect all passengers to follow set safety rules. SEAT drivers are experienced in assisting passengers with special needs (i.e. wheelchair riders). SEAT has vehicles throughout the service area and offers door-to-door service. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available on request. To request a ride, call SEAT Customer Service in Pine Bluff at 543-6340 or toll-free at 1-866-501-7328 at least 48 hours in advance.
